{"id":22583,"date":"2024-03-12T11:12:06","date_gmt":"2024-03-12T00:42:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/fit\/?p=22583"},"modified":"2024-03-13T09:23:22","modified_gmt":"2024-03-12T22:53:22","slug":"nominations-open-for-sa-science-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/fit\/2024\/03\/12\/nominations-open-for-sa-science-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"Nominations open for SA science awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scienceawards.sa.gov.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"0\">SA Science Excellence and Innovation Awards<\/a> are now open for applications &#8211; so the search is on for South Australia\u2019s top scientists, researchers, innovators and educators.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><span lang=\"en-GB\">Celebrating 20 years in 2024, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.scienceawards.sa.gov.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-auth=\"NotApplicable\" data-linkindex=\"1\">SA Science Excellence and Innovation Awards<\/a>\u00a0raise the profile of exceptional STEMM professionals, and shine a well-deserving spotlight on the social, economic, health and\/or environmental impacts of individuals and teams.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-GB\">Applications are open now to enter yourself, your team or to apply on behalf of someone else, in the following categories:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<span lang=\"en-GB\">South Australian Scientist of the Year<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<span lang=\"en-GB\">South Australian Innovator of the Year<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<span lang=\"en-GB\">PhD Research Excellence<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<span lang=\"en-GB\">Excellence in Science and Industry Collaboration<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<span lang=\"en-GB\">STEMM Educator of the Year \u2013 School (Primary or Secondary)<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<span lang=\"en-GB\">STEMM Educator of the Year \u2013 Tertiary (University or Registered Training Organisation)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-GB\">Winners receive prize money to support future work or career aspirations \u2013 with $25,000 for each for the South Australian Scientist of the Year and South Australian Innovator of the Year awards, and $10,000 each for the remaining winners.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Flinders&#8217; Research Development and Support will provide support to any Flinders&#8217; applications. The Flinders internal closing date for a completed final draft application is<strong>\u00a0Friday 12 April<\/strong>.
