{"id":23222,"date":"2024-06-25T10:11:54","date_gmt":"2024-06-25T00:41:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/fit\/?p=23222"},"modified":"2024-06-25T13:06:13","modified_gmt":"2024-06-25T03:36:13","slug":"a-showcase-to-learn-about-autism","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/fit\/2024\/06\/25\/a-showcase-to-learn-about-autism\/","title":{"rendered":"A showcase to learn about autism"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p class=\"size-14\" lang=\"x-size-14\"><span class=\"font-arial\">The College of Education, Psychology and Social Work at Flinders University invites everyone to attend its <a href=\"https:\/\/educationpsychologysocialwork.createsend1.com\/t\/r-l-tdguyhk-nidzkywi-y\/\">Showcase of Autism Research &amp; Teaching<\/a><em>\u00a0<\/em>event on Thursday 11 July from 5.15pm at Flinders University City Campus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The lecture will commence with keynote presentations from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/people\/robyn.young\">Professor Robyn Young\u00a0<\/a>speaking on interactions in the criminal judicial system and autism community safety, and cognitive neuroscientist\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/people\/nathan.caruana\">Dr Nathan Caruana<\/a>\u00a0speaking on how virtual reality can be used to both understand and support social interactions involving autistic people.<\/p>\n<p>Assistant Minister for Autism of South Australia, Hon Emily Bourke MLC will present the event&#8217;s opening address and Helen Graham, CEO of Autism SA, will be Master of Ceremonies.
