The ABC Catalyst team has enlisted the help of Flinders Palaeontology experts to prepare a major new documentary series on Australia’s extinct giant megafauna that commences on ABC-TV tonight.<\/p>\n
Australia was once home to a group of extraordinary animals known as Megafauna \u2013 giants that lived here for millions of years, but in a blink of time, they disappeared. What became of them has been debated for over a century, but now a team of scientists that includes Dr Phoebe McInerney, Dr Aaron Camens and Associate Professor Trevor Worthy from the Flinders Palaeontology laboratory are re-opening this paleolithic cold case.<\/p>\n
The two-part series \u2013 Megafauna: What Killed Australia\u2019s Giants?<\/em>, narrated by Australia’s screen superstar Hugh Jackman \u2013 is being broadcast on ABC-TV, with Part One screening at 8pm tonight ( Tuesday 25 June) and Part Two at 8pm on Tuesday 2 July.
