For more information about the prize, click <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/journals\/rcic20\/collections\/duncan-chappell-prize\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Improving cancer treatment<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_24358\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-24358\" style=\"width: 219px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-24358\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/fit\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2025\/04\/Luke-Selth-sml-300x200-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"219\" height=\"146\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-24358\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Professor Luke Selth<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/people\/luke.selth\"><strong>Professor Luke Selth<\/strong><\/a> has been awarded $447,634 from Cancel Council for his project <em>Selective targeting of CDK4 to improve breast and prostate cancer treatment<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Selth and his team have developed a new CDK inhibitor, called AU2-94. Preliminary evidence suggests that AU2-94 effectively blocks growth of breast and prostate cancer cells without causing significant toxicity.
