Dr Katherine McLachlan<\/strong><\/a> has been awarded the inaugural Duncan Chappell Article Prize for her article \u201cUsing a trauma-informed practice framework to operationalise the #raisetheage campaign\u201d, which the judging panel described as \u201cextremely engaging\u201d, \u201cvery original\u201d, and \u201csolution-oriented”.<\/p>\n

The Duncan Chappell Article Prize recognises exceptional scholarship by an early career researcher or PhD student published in Current Issues in Criminal Justice, a leading criminal justice. For more information about the prize, click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Improving cancer treatment<\/strong><\/p>\n

Professor Luke Selth<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Professor Luke Selth<\/strong><\/a> has been awarded $447,634 from Cancel Council for his project Selective targeting of CDK4 to improve breast and prostate cancer treatment<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Professor Selth and his team have developed a new CDK inhibitor, called AU2-94. Preliminary evidence suggests that AU2-94 effectively blocks growth of breast and prostate cancer cells without causing significant toxicity. This project will comprehensively test the efficacy and safety of AU2-94, including comparing it to currently approved CDK4\/6 inhibitors.<\/p>\n

Professor Murray Drummond and Dr Naser Pourazad<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Professor Murray Drummond<\/a><\/strong> and Dr Naser Pourazad<\/a> <\/strong>have been successful in their Impact Research Grants for Ageing Well applications.<\/p>\n

Professor Drummond was awarded $100,000 for the project \u2018Kickoff\u2019 Men’s Health: Connecting Older Rural Men to improve Health and Wellbeing through Walking Football<\/em>, while Dr Pourazad received $24,600 for the project DIGIT-ALL: Digital Inclusion Guidance and Intervention Toolkit for Ageing Living and Learning.<\/em><\/p>\n
