These dates mark two milestones in Australia\u2019s reconciliation journey: the 1967 referendum and the historic 1992 Mabo decision, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2025,\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reconciliation.org.au\/bridging-now-to-next-nrw-2025\/\"><em>Bridging Now to Next<\/em><\/a>,\u00a0reflects the ongoing connection between past, present and future and calls for all Australians to step forward together, to look ahead and continue the push forward as past lessons guide us.<\/p>\n<p>To commemorate National Reconciliation Week, a series of events will be hosted across several campuses. We\u2019re inviting our community to join us to mark these significant milestones and to be a part of the next big steps in our nation\u2019s reconciliation journey.<\/p>\n<h2>Reconciliation at the Library<\/h2>\n<p>The Library is commemorating Reconciliation Week with displays that reflect on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, culture, and the ongoing journey toward reconciliation. Visit the displays at Central, Sturt, Medical, Tonsley, and City Campus libraries to take a moment to reflect on what <em>Bridging Now to Next<\/em> means to you.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Student Celebration<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>A variety of fun activities will be held at Bedford Park, Tonsley and Sturt to celebrate NRW, including arts and crafts activities, including weaving, painting and jewellery making and FREE donuts for students, in support of the Tjindu Foundation, a not-for-profit delivering education, and cultural engagement programs for Aboriginal children and young people in SA. Reflecting on the layered histories and uncertain futures of these places, the exhibition explores human relationships with Sea Country, ecological fragility, and everyday rituals of coastal life.
