{"id":25290,"date":"2026-02-02T09:39:20","date_gmt":"2026-02-01T23:09:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/fit\/?p=25290"},"modified":"2026-02-05T14:32:18","modified_gmt":"2026-02-05T04:02:18","slug":"final-academic-career-framework-now-available","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/fit\/2026\/02\/02\/final-academic-career-framework-now-available\/","title":{"rendered":"Final Academic Career Framework now available"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The final Academic Career Framework (ACF) has now been endorsed by the ACF Committee and Senior Executives, marking an important further milestone in the University\u2019s commitment to fostering and supporting academic careers and excellence.<\/p>\n<p>Release of the final Framework follows an extensive collaboration and consultation period during 2025, during which academic staff contributed valuable insights through focus groups, written submissions and formal feedback processes. Feedback was confidentially managed and de\u2011identified by People &amp; Culture before being passed to leaders for consideration. All feedback was carefully reviewed and has informed some key refinements to the final Framework.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s New?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The new ACF and its associated policy material are now available on the <a href=\"https:\/\/staff.flinders.edu.au\/employee-resources\/professional-development\/academic-career-framework\">ACF Webpage<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Framework reflects our collective commitment to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>providing enhanced clarity and transparency<\/li>\n<li>ensuring fairness, inclusivity and equity<\/li>\n<li>strengthening consistency of interpretation and application<\/li>\n<li>aligning with international standards of academic excellence<\/li>\n<li>supporting quality and impact across academic profiles, promotions and related policies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Resources and Support<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A suite of implementation resources will be available on the ACF Hub from early February 2026, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Framework and all associated policy material<\/li>\n<li>Information session dates and online training modules<\/li>\n<li>Guides for applicants, supervisors, and committees<\/li>\n<li>Frequently Asked Questions<\/li>\n<li>Tools to support preparation for the 2026 promotions round.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These resources have been designed to ensure a smooth transition and assist academic staff to navigate the new Framework with confidence.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that a new <em>Professional Experience to Academic Qualifications Equivalency Policy and Procedures is<\/em> <em>also under development and will be made available shortly.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Next Steps<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Further details about the ACF Hub and the 2026 Academic Promotions process will be communicated over coming weeks.
