Risk Appetite Statement<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This statement sets out the level of risk the University is willing to accept in pursuit of its strategic objectives. It provides a clear framework to support consistent, informed decision\u2011making across all areas of the University.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Access the Risk Appetite Statement <\/strong><strong><u><a href=\"https:\/\/staff.flinders.edu.au\/content\/dam\/staff\/governance\/staff-only\/risk-appetite-statement.pdf\">here<\/a><\/u><\/strong><strong>\u00a0or <\/strong>via the Risk Management Policy in the Policy Library.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Updated Risk Matrix<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A new Risk Matrix is now available and should be used in all risk assessments going forward. This replaces previous versions and aligns with current industry and sector standards.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Access the new Risk Matrix <\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/staff.flinders.edu.au\/content\/dam\/staff\/governance\/staff-only\/university-risk-matrix.pdf\">here<\/a><\/strong><strong>\u00a0or <\/strong>via the Risk Management Webpage.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What we need from you <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Familiarise yourself<\/strong>\u00a0with the Risk Appetite Statement and the updated Risk Matrix.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Replace any old versions<\/strong>\u00a0of the Risk Matrix in documents, templates, local procedures, or shared drives with the new version.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Use the new Risk Matrix<\/strong>\u00a0whenever completing or updating a risk assessment.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Escalate risks promptly through your usual local channels <\/strong>(e.g., your supervisor\/manager) following existing processes.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Consider risk explicitly<\/strong>\u00a0when making decisions that may impact the University\u2019s people, operations, finances, reputation, or strategic objectives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Resources and Support<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/content\/dam\/documents\/staff\/policies\/governance-risk\/risk-management-policy.pdf\">Risk Management Policy<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Risk &amp; Assurance Team:<\/strong> Contact us at <a href=\"mailto:riskandinsurance@flinders.edu.au\">riskandinsurance@flinders.edu.au<\/a> for advice or support.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>What\u2019s coming next?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Over the coming months, the Risk &amp; Assurance team will provide further tools and practical guidance on how to apply the Risk Appetite Statement in day\u2011to\u2011day decision making.
