{"id":26188,"date":"2026-07-20T15:16:10","date_gmt":"2026-07-20T05:46:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/fit\/?p=26188"},"modified":"2026-07-21T13:20:00","modified_gmt":"2026-07-21T03:50:00","slug":"improving-our-space-42","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/fit\/2026\/07\/20\/improving-our-space-42\/","title":{"rendered":"Improving our space"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">There are ongoing works to modify accessible toilet doors, we\u2019re weeding and temporarily closing some parking areas in car park 12, and more.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Accessible toilet door upgrades<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Works to upgrade accessible toilet doors are underway now and ongoing through July and August in the following buildings:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Central Library level 3<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Registry Annex basement<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Sports Centre level 3<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Student Hub \/ Union level 1<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Sturt South level 1<\/li>\n<li class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Sir Eric Neal level 3.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Please stay out of work zones and follow signage to other facilities nearby.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b>Weeding and slashing in car park 12<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">On Saturday 25 July, we will be slashing and removing weeds in the outer parts of car park 12 (adjacent to the Flinders Railway station). During works, areas will be cordoned off and inaccessible for car parking. Please stay out of cordoned off work zones and park in central bays.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Reminder to \u2018<\/span>Show Up\u2019 to Adelaide Climate Action Week (ACAW)<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">Flinders is taking part in\u00a0<\/span>SA&#8217;s first community-led climate festival\u200b,\u00a0<span lang=\"EN-GB\">ACAW, with a f<\/span>ree event in the Central Library: \u2018Planet Talks, Pizza and Precincts\u2019 from 11:00am to 12:30pm on Friday 31 July. <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/fit\/2026\/06\/22\/adelaide-climate-action-week\/\">Read more here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b>New furniture in Anchor Court<\/b><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Works to update furniture in Anchor Court have been completed with umbrellas arriving last week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">There are now six booths to make use of outside the College of Science and Engineering college front and Blend Caf\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Thanks to everyone for your patience as we built these seats.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><b>Electrical shutdown works &#8211; completed<\/b><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">We successfully completed electrical shutdown works held over the past two weekends at Tonsley and in the Physical Sciences and Biological Sciences buildings.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">Thanks to everyone for your patience as we completed the shutdowns, which closed buildings and lifts during works.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There are ongoing works to modify accessible toilet doors, we\u2019re weeding and temporarily closing some parking areas in car park 12, and more.
