{"id":754,"date":"2023-09-26T21:37:48","date_gmt":"2023-09-26T12:07:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/flinders-medical-program\/?p=754"},"modified":"2023-09-26T21:37:48","modified_gmt":"2023-09-26T12:07:48","slug":"samet-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/flinders-medical-program\/2023\/09\/26\/samet-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"SA Prevocational Medical Education Excellence Awards 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Friday 22\u00a0September,<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/people\/alison.jones\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-emb-href-display=\"www.flinders.edu.au\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/people\/alison.jones\">Prof Alison Jones<\/a><\/strong> (Dean Education), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/people\/michal.wozniak\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Dr Michal Wozniak<\/strong><\/a> (MD Program Director), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/people\/vanessa.ryan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-emb-href-display=\"www.flinders.edu.au\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/people\/vanessa.ryan\"><strong>Vanessa Ryan<\/strong><\/a> (Rural Clinical School Director) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/people\/jayanthi.jayakaran\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-emb-href-display=\"www.flinders.edu.au\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/people\/jayanthi.jayakaran\"><strong>Dr\u00a0Jayanthi Jayakaran<\/strong><\/a> (Dean People &amp; Resources) attended the inaugural South Australian Prevocational Medical Excellence Awards.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ruralgeneralist.sa.gov.au\/training-networks\/barossa-hills-fleurieu-lhn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-emb-href-display=\"www.ruralgeneralist.sa.gov.au\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/www.ruralgeneralist.sa.gov.au\/training-networks\/barossa-hills-fleurieu-lhn\/\">Barossa Hills Fleurieu Collaboration for Education and Training<\/a> (B-CET program) was nominated for an award in the Team Culture category.\u00a0This recognises excellence in the provision of a supportive learning environment for prevocational doctors, by the wider interprofessional team.<\/p>\n<p>The B-CET program was developed by Rural Clinical School Director, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/people\/vanessa.ryan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-emb-href-display=\"www.flinders.edu.au\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/people\/vanessa.ryan\"><strong>Vanessa Ryan<\/strong><\/a> and Director of Clinical Training <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/people\/peter.stuart\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-emb-href-display=\"www.flinders.edu.au\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/people\/peter.stuart\"><strong>Dr Peter Stuart<\/strong><\/a>. It was established to support medical students and Junior Doctors in simulation and skills based training, develop team work and communication skills in the clinical setting. A number of MDRS students have participated in the program this year and have found it to be a supportive and encouraging learning environment. And while the program did not receive the award, It was fantastic to have the B-CET program nominated among strong competition.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Congratulations to the Award winners and nominees&#8230; <\/strong>these awards recognise positive contributions to junior doctor teaching, support and team culture.
