{"id":1923,"date":"2018-11-28T13:32:09","date_gmt":"2018-11-28T03:02:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/flinders-nt\/?p=1923"},"modified":"2019-11-29T12:09:14","modified_gmt":"2019-11-29T01:39:14","slug":"winner-outstanding-supervisor-katherine-region","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/flinders-nt\/2018\/11\/28\/winner-outstanding-supervisor-katherine-region\/","title":{"rendered":"Winner Outstanding Supervisor Katherine Region"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Congratulations to Susan Lester on receiving the\u00a0Flinders NT award for\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/medicine\/sites\/flinders-nt\/remote-and-rural-interprofessional-placement-learning-nt\/supervisor-recognition-awards.cfm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Outstanding Supervisor Katherine Region<\/a>.\u00a0The Outstanding Regional Supervisor award recognises Supervisors who have made an outstanding contribution to student supervision within their local region.<\/p>\n<p>Susan commenced early this year as a speech pathologist in Katherine\u00a0 and quickly recognised the one-of-a-kind opportunities of the cultural and remote setting in which she works. She joined forces with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/medicine\/sites\/flinders-nt\/flinders-nt_home.cfm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Flinders NT<\/a> in order to facilitate a range of Speech Pathology students from universities all over Australia to undertake placements each term in two of the Katherine schools, St Joseph\u2019s and MacFarlane Primary school.<\/p>\n<p>Susan promotes the unique opportunities in rural and remote health with students singing her praises at the level of support provided both in learning and in being away from home.
