International HDR Students are Determined to Connect

Seven enthusiastic international HDR students met with FUSA and  International Student Services (ISS) on Monday 28 June to start the process of establishing a student club for international HDR students. The students talked about the importance of feeling connected with like-minded people coming from diverse disciplines and cultures and that they are looking to create a space where they can exchange information, share experiences and feelings, and most importantly have fun.

If you are interested in joining the club, or share your ideas around supporting the club please contact vito.hernandez@flinders.edu.au.

ISS aims to support both onshore and offshore international HDR students by empowering them to be co-creators of their own success. A further ISS initiative to support the international HDR community earlier this year has been the creation of the MS Teams HDR Channel as a specific communication channel for HDR students. The channel with about 136 students has already had its first success story with students supporting one another by providing advice regarding the travel exemption. If you are an international HDR student who does not have access to ISS’s MS Teams channel or just would like to find out more about it contact shervin.shokri@flinders.edu.au.
