Flinders University secures another three HDR research grants

Flinders University has been successful in gaining funding for three outstanding industry PhD projects in the latest round of the Australian Government Department of Education National Industry PhD Program.

Flinders University continues its success in receiving these grants since the program launched last year, being one of the top awarded universities nationally and the number one in South Australia.

Professor Timothy Cavagnaro, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research Training and Capabilities) and Dean of Graduate Research, says this recent round of awards shows that Flinders continues to put priority on developing the next generation of research leaders.

“Flinders’ continued success in this important program is testament to our commitment to partnering with industry to deliver research with real world relevance and impact.”

The National Industry PhD Program is part of a $296 million government initiative to build a foundation of research talent skilled in university-industry collaboration and harness the world-class research Australian universities are known for.

The latest awards all fall under Flinders University College of Nursing & Health Sciences for the following projects:

Creating a triple bottom line evaluation framework to support health decision makers transition appropriate services to virtual delivery models.

Stakeholders’ perspectives of strategies to embed a culturally tailored iSupport model for carers of people with dementia in community aged care services.

In this project, the PhD student will be supported by a large project team across the University and aged care organisations to investigate strategies to embed a culturally tailored iSupport model in routine ethno-specific aged care services to address the existing inequalities in supporting carers of people with dementia from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Optimising prenatal folic acid supplementation to reduce postnatal depression: an evidence-based precision approach to nutrient supplementation during pregnancy.
