{"id":796,"date":"2023-05-15T10:16:00","date_gmt":"2023-05-15T00:46:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/hdr-students\/?p=796"},"modified":"2023-05-15T10:18:58","modified_gmt":"2023-05-15T00:48:58","slug":"chass-postgraduate-winter-conference-call-for-proposals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/hdr-students\/2023\/05\/15\/chass-postgraduate-winter-conference-call-for-proposals\/","title":{"rendered":"CHASS Postgraduate Winter Conference &#8211; Call for Proposals"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Flinders University College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences Postgraduate Association is excited to announce its 2023 Winter Conference on the theme of <strong><em>&#8220;Social Sciences and Humanities for a Better World: Interdisciplinary and Transdisciplinary Approaches&#8221;<\/em><\/strong>. We invite paper or creative display proposals that address urgent and complex issues facing humanity and the planet, such as climate change, poverty, migration, inequality, racism, health, and peace.<\/p>\n<p>The Conference will take place on <strong>Friday, June 30, 2023<\/strong>, in a hybrid format to accommodate online participation, although we encourage in-person presentations wherever possible. The event is an excellent opportunity for Higher Degree Research students to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Share research and innovations;<\/li>\n<li>Connect with research scholars across disciplines, and;<\/li>\n<li>Participate in HDR milestones.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When submitting your proposal, please keep the following guidelines in mind:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide a title and an abstract that summarizes your topic in no more than 150 words.<\/li>\n<li>Unless it&#8217;s a presentation for Confirmation of Candidature (CoC) milestone or an Honours presentation, all other presentations will be given 20 minutes presentation time.<\/li>\n<li>If you&#8217;re scheduled to give a 30-minute presentation as part of your Milestone (Confirmation of Candidature), please indicate that in your proposal submission. Your 30-minute presentation will be followed by a 15-minute Q&amp;A session.<\/li>\n<li>Honours students are also invited to submit short-form style papers, which will be presented in dedicated sessions of 10 minutes for each presentation.<\/li>\n<li>We welcome creative displays and themed panels.
