Industry mentors are motivated to \u2018give back\u2019 to the STEM community and generously volunteer their time to share their knowledge, guidance and advice.<\/p>\n<p>Mentors are a great way of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>enhancing your understanding of industry and how to collaborate with industry<\/li>\n<li>gaining a new perspective on your research<\/li>\n<li>developing your industry network<\/li>\n<li>enhancing your communication and leadership skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>which are essential whether you aspire to an academic or industry-based role.<\/p>\n<p>To get the most out of the program you will be encouraged to connect with your mentor each month over the 12-month program.\u00a0You will also be supported through thought-provoking leadership and careers focused events.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Applications are now open! <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you will have completed your <strong>Confirmation of Candidature<\/strong> by <strong>1 July 2023<\/strong> and are undertaking research in one of the following disciplines (or similar), IMNIS could be of benefit to you.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Advanced Manufacturing <\/strong>\u2013research disciplines focused on the research, development and application of advanced machines, manufacturing, and materials to enhance products or processes, and increase competitiveness in the manufacturing sectors.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Agriculture and Water Resources <\/strong>\u2013research disciplines focused on increasing the utilisation and uptake of technology, engineering and science in offsetting and reducing pressures to agriculture, water resources and food value chains.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Digital Futures \u2013<\/strong>research disciplines focused on the development and application of information and communication technologies, as well as the advancement of digital transformation in industry and society.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Energy Resources, Renewables, Minerals &amp; METS (mining equipment, technology and services) <\/strong>\u2013 research disciplines focused on the development and application of technology to improve the sustainability and reduce the carbon footprint of Australia\u2019s energy supplies, as well as pathways to efficient and sustainable mineral resource management.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Health &#8211; <\/strong>scientific investigations that seek to improve health and wellbeing through prevention, identification and curing of disease, injury and disability, and lead to improved treatment options and increased knowledge about all factors in human health.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Med-Tech\/Pharma <\/strong>\u2013research disciplines relevant to the medical technologies, biotechnologies, and pharmaceuticals sectors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To apply, please discuss with your supervisor, complete this <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/hdr-students\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/92\/2023\/05\/Flinders-IMNIS-EOI_Template_2023_24.docx\">Expression of Interest Form<\/a> and send it to <a href=\"mailto:hdr.development@flinders.edu.au\">hdr.development@flinders.edu.au<\/a> by no later than <strong>Wednesday, 7 June, 202<\/strong>3.<\/p>\n<p>A Program Prospectus has been attached.
