2 PhD Scholarships available

Two full-time PhD scholarships are available in the College of Science and Engineering at Flinders University.

Machine Learning in Computer Vision (Airport Baggage Inspection)

A full-time PhD scholarship is available in the area of Artificial Intelligence in Medical Imaging for students pursuing a PhD study. The project will develop Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) based methods for the synthesis of Head MRI from Head CT scans. We will focus on clinical applications in diagnosis and detection of, such as, head stroke, traumatic brain injuries and brain anomalies. The scholarship includes an industry internship of at least 60 full-time equivalent days.

Candidates with a related background in Computer vision, Image processing and image analysis, Computer Science, ICT and Engineering, Mathematics and Statistics are invited to apply. Demonstrated work/research experience in deep learning architectures, GANs and python is essential.  Programming skills in Matlab and previous research experience with medical CT/MRI images is beneficial. Ideally, the successful candidate should have journal publications and/or conference presentation experience.
