The Medical Device Research Institute (MDRI) took over Dublin, Ireland, earlier this month with 12 members attending the 8th<\/sup> World Congress of Biomechanics (WCB) from 8-12 July. The WCB is held once every four years and is known as the premier biomechanics meeting worldwide.<\/p>\n

MDRI Deputy Director Professor Mark Taylor<\/a> said it was a proud moment for Flinders.<\/p>\n

\u201cFlinders biomechanics research was literally front and centre on the world stage. We had such a strong presence with so many MDRI members presenting oral and poster presentations, it was a special moment to be part of\u201d.<\/p>\n

All levels were represented, from Professors through Early Career Researchers and PhD students to honours students.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis conference features the best of the best from around the World in biomechanics, so Flinders should feel very proud\u201d.<\/p>\n

MDRI researchers involved in the WCB conference were Rami Al-Dirini<\/a>, Maged Awadalla<\/a>, Zaitul Asyikin Aznan, Daniel Ciric, Ashwin Jeyakar Dhanasekaran, Saulo Martelli<\/a>, Dermot O’Rourke<\/a>, Egon Perilli<\/a>, Hamed Ziaei Poor<\/a>, Sophie Rapagna<\/a>, Karen Reynolds<\/a>, Mark Taylor<\/a>.<\/p>\n

They also had the opportunity to reconnect with past MDRI members Dr Melissa Ryan and Dr Bryant Roberts who are now both working with the Institute for in silico Medicine (Insigneo) at the University of Sheffield, UK.<\/p>\n
