{"id":284,"date":"2013-08-15T04:12:50","date_gmt":"2013-08-14T18:42:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/mdri-news\/?p=284"},"modified":"2013-08-15T04:12:50","modified_gmt":"2013-08-14T18:42:50","slug":"mdpp-to-deliver-new-medical-technologies-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/mdri-news\/2013\/08\/15\/mdpp-to-deliver-new-medical-technologies-program\/","title":{"rendered":"MDPP to deliver new Medical Technologies Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Formally announced this morning (15 August 2013) in a release by Minister Tom Kenyon&#8217;s office (Minister for Manufacturing, Innovation and Trade), the <a href=\"http:\/\/mdpp.org.au\"><strong>Medical Device Partnering Program (MDPP)<\/strong><\/a> has received funding for the next three years from the Department for Manufacturing, Innovation, Trade, Resources and Energy (DMITRE) to facilitate the delivery of the <em>Manufacturing Works<\/em>, <strong>Medical Technologies Program<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>South Australia&#8217;s medical technology sector are set to benefit from the $750,000 funding commitment, aimed to support the development of new, high-tech medical devices.<\/p>\n<p>To read the full media release, click <a href=\"http:\/\/www.premier.sa.gov.au\/images\/news_releases\/13_08Aug\/medicaltechnologyfunding.pdf\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Under the <em>Medical Technologies Program<\/em>, companies, commercial enterprises or an individual who agrees to form such an entity, with a current or proposed connection in South Australia, can benefit from R&amp;D assistance through the MDPP.  With access to all three publicly-funded South Australian Universities, the MDPP can offer multi-disciplinary research expertise and state-of-the-art facilities for product development and testing.<\/p>\n<p>The first round of applications for the <em>Medical Technologies Program<\/em> will close on Friday 6 September 2013.
