NAIDOC week was celebrated across the Riverland with community events held in most centres.
The week commenced with a church service in Loxton and Flinders Rural and Remote Health Riverland team, led by Uncle David Copley took part in the traditional march in Berri with approximately 300 other community participants. This was was followed by the NAIDOC award ceremony which included the presentation of an award sponsored by Flinders for scholar of the year.
Uncle David attended the annual Elders lunch in Barmera with Flinders sponsoring the celebration cake for this event.
Children participated in the celebrations, with a successful SAPOL Blue Light disco held in Berri, attended by more than 100 young people.
It was a well organised and busy week with over 100 people attending most of the events and at the end of the week, concluded with a church service in Berri.
