The Riverland Academy of Clinical Excellence (RACE) hosted the South Australian Rural Health Research and Education (SARHRE) conference in Renmark last weekend which included research presentations, plenary discussions, and a conference dinner.
The conference brought together rural clinicians, academics, students and health professionals from across the state interested in clinical supervision, health education, health research and building rural research capability.
With more than 60 registrations for the event, presentations covered a broad range of topics relevant to the rural health workforce and their communities. Subjects included prescribing trends, ethical issues with data collection, a current teletrials program and rural workforce contributions by medical practitioners and a workshop about the future of AI in regional and remote healthcare.
Prof Robyn Aitken spoke about the new Flinders SA Rural Medical Program and Dr Nicola Parkin co-presented the early signs of success for the Riverland Interprofessional Student Placement Program (Allied Health).
The successful conference closed following lunch on Sunday.
