Get to know your College: Hayley Anderson

 

Meet Hayley Anderson, Project Officer in the College of Medicine and Public Health. With a passion for improving systems and supporting teams to achieve their best, Hayley plays a key role in delivering projects that enhance processes and experiences for staff across the college. Having worked in a variety of roles across Flinders, she brings a wealth of experience and a genuine commitment to making things work better for everyone.

What is your role and what does your work focus on?
I am a Project Officer, and my role focuses on supporting college leadership in delivering key projects that improve processes and experiences for staff across the college. Essentially, my goal is to help make things better and work well for everyone.

Where did you work and/or study before joining CMPH / Flinders?
I have worked across Flinders in various roles spanning college operations, research, and project support. Most recently, I was the Principal Project Officer for the Social Workers Registration Board of South Australia, where I helped set up the scheme.

What inspired you to pursue a career in your current field, and how has your passion evolved over time?
I have always enjoyed roles that support projects and teams to achieve success. Working at Flinders allows me to use my skills while contributing to a university that produces outstanding research and education, which makes my work really rewarding.

Can you share a memorable experience or project from your career that had a significant impact on you or the community?
Setting up the Social Workers Registration Board in South Australia was a major highlight for me. Being part of the first registration scheme in the state was a huge achievement and will make a real difference by protecting the public and raising professional standards.

How do you like to relax or spend your spare time?
I love to travel, explore local food and wine spots, spend quality time with my family, and I especially enjoy being at the beach
