What is your role and what does your work focus on?\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n I am a proud Wakka Wakka Aboriginal woman from Cherbourg, Queensland.<\/p>\n I am also a newly appointed Indigenous Lecturer teaching Indigenous Knowledge and Culture based at the Alice Springs campus.<\/p>\n My work mainly focuses on co-delivering our Introduction to Central Australian Cultures and context, our Aboriginal Culture Awareness Programmes and various projects.<\/p>\n Where did you work before joining CMPH?\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n Before joining CMPH, I worked at University Of South Australia delivering undergraduate courses to education students and private consultancy work in delivering Cultural Awareness Programmes and Reconciliation.<\/p>\n What journey brought you to this point in your career?\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n My journey in my career brought me to Alice Springs as I have spent a considerable time living rural and remote in the Northern Territory including Darwin and Yulara.<\/p>\n I have only ever visited Alice Springs and when the opportunity arose to live and work here, \u00a0I welcomed it with open arms and heart.<\/p>\n What is something you love most about your work?\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n I love many things about my work but it is the people you meet and new friendships you make which are a highlight.<\/p>\n Also being able to share my knowledge, experience and my Aboriginal culture with others is also why I love what I do.<\/p>\n How do you like to relax or spend your spare time?\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n In my spare time at the moment I do a lot of face time with family down south and on the east coast, spending time with friends here in Alice and creative writing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" What is your role and what does your work focus on?\u00a0 I am a proud Wakka Wakka Aboriginal woman from Cherbourg, Queensland.
