Medical Science<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\u201cI am fortunate to be part of the first cohort of students for the Laboratory Medicine degree which is currently seeking to be AIMS (Australian Institute of Medical and Clinical Scientists) accredited, which opens up so many career opportunities for employment within the field of my passion.\u201d<\/p>\n
The practical element of the degree program is, in her own words, the \u201cpinnacle of my experiences\u201d and that there is no substitute for \u201chands-on\u201d real-life placements and interactions.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe theory is a vital aspect of our learning, but the implementation of the theory, is for me where the magical \u2018light-bulb\u2019 moments have occurred.<\/p>\n
\u201cHaving the opportunity to mentor other students and further opportunities to do my placement within operational research laboratories has been so insightful and absolutely the highlight of my education.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne of my most favourite continued experiences is that I get to learn within the Flinders Medical Centre, it is inclusive and indicative of the environment in which I hope to be working in when I graduate.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have really appreciated the early exposure to this type of \u2018in place\u2019 learning as it has helped solidify to me that I am on the right career path for myself individually.\u201d<\/p>\n
Felling supported while learning<\/h4>\n
The support and guidance of the University family along the way is something Verynnia speaks of with significant praise, highlighting how having a supervisor facilitate her learning is a genuine privilege. Flinders University, she says, stands out from all others in the commitment to supporting students and providing engaging content with real life-based skills.<\/p>\n
All of which validates her decision to pursue a life of learning, encouraging others to follow their dreams and aspirations.<\/p>\n
\u201cTrust yourself, be your best advocate, the journey will develop your knowledge and enable you to absorb the content that will allow you to achieve your personal best,\u201d Verynnia says.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is nothing to lose and only incredible experiences and opportunities to gain from giving your future the greatest chance \u2013 it has challenged and empowered me to develop knowledge I could not have dreamt up if I tried.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am so grateful and proud that I didn\u2019t give up on my dreams and aspirations. I have learnt so much and feel an immense privilege to have gained this knowledge and experiences and sincerely feel I will be serving my community within my chosen profession path of my dream career because I gave myself the chance.\u201d<\/p>\n
