CNT Separation Success

NanoCentre PhD student Katherine Moore‘s latest paper entitled Separation of Double-Walled Carbon Nanotubes by Size Exclusion Column Chromatography published in the journal ACS Nano has recently been featured in an Institute of Physics article for nanotechweb.org.

In 2013 Katherine obtained a scholarship to attend the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany to work with Dr Benjamin Flavel, a former Flinders student. Whilst at KIT, Katherine carried out work on a project to develop a new method to separate out Doubled Walled Carbon Nano Tubes (DWCNTs) from a CNT mix. Different types of CNTs are essential for different applications, in this case the DWCNTs are ideal candidates for biosensors.
