Following on from a successful <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/science_engineering\/research\/nanoscale\/nanoconnect\/\">NanoConnect<\/a> technology review and feasibility study completed in 2012, the new 12 month project sees postdoctoral researchers from Flinders work closely with PMB Defence in the improvement of large-scale rechargeable lead-acid batteries.<\/p>\n<p>PMB Defence supplies, installs and maintains the Main Storage Battery used in the COLLINS class submarines. The collaboration with FCNST consists of two research topics, led by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/people\/cameron.shearer\">Dr. Cameron Shearer<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/people\/daniel.tune\">Dr. Daniel Tune<\/a>, aimed at improving the lifetime and reducing the maintenance requirements of the company\u2019s core defence product.
