{"id":1104,"date":"2017-12-20T11:32:40","date_gmt":"2017-12-20T02:02:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/nutrition\/?p=1104"},"modified":"2017-12-20T11:32:40","modified_gmt":"2017-12-20T02:02:40","slug":"award-for-research-on-community-based-approaches-to-adolescent-obesity-prevention","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/nutrition\/2017\/12\/20\/award-for-research-on-community-based-approaches-to-adolescent-obesity-prevention\/","title":{"rendered":"Award for research on community-based approaches to adolescent obesity prevention"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Earlier this year <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/people\/michelle.miller\">Prof Michelle Miller<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/people\/lucy.bell\">Dr Lucy Bell<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/people\/jacqueline.miller\">Dr Jacqui Miller<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/people\/carly.moores\">Dr Carly Moores<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/people\/louisa.matwiejczyk\">Ms Louisa Matwiejczyk<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/people\/raechel.damarell\">Ms Raechel Damarell<\/a> (Gus Fraenkel Medical Library) were awarded external, competitive funding ($26,000) brokered by the Sax Institute and commissioned by the New South Wales Office of Preventive Health\/Centre for Population Health.<\/p>\n<p>The team was contracted to design and execute a comprehensive search strategy to identify <em>community-based approaches to adolescent obesity prevention <\/em>as part of an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.saxinstitute.org.au\/our-work\/knowledge-exchange\/evidence-check\/\">Evidence Check Review<\/a>.\u00a0 The team screened over 10,000 records and delivered the report to the funder in the space of 4 weeks.
