Emeritus Professor Ian Lowe AO, Emeritus Professor Sue Richardson AM and Professor Fran Baum AO<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

On Thursday 28th of March 2019, Prof. Fran Baum<\/a>, launched her new book \u2018Governing for Health: Advancing Health and Equity through Policy and Advocacy<\/em><\/a>\u2019 at Imprints Bookshop, Adelaide. The book summarises economic, political science, and public health evidence and arguments for how our societies can and should be governed for health, and includes a \u2018well-being manifesto\u2019.<\/p>\n

The event was hosted by Emeritus Professor Sue Richardson AM, who spoke of the urgent need for governance for health instead of wealth, quoting Adam Smith: \u201cWhat can be added to the happiness of a man who is in health, out of debt, and has a clear conscience?\u201d<\/p>\n

Emeritus Professor Ian Lowe AO launched the book. In noting the book was dedicated to the next generations, he reiterated the need for governments to act on climate change for the health of all. Prof. Lowe outlined the six messages for governing for health from the book, that:<\/p>\n
