His talk\u00a0was\u00a0titled <em>&#8220;Freedom as Non-Domination: Political Threats to Informed Consent and Patient Autonomy&#8221;<\/em>. The paper\u00a0argues that we have neglected an important challenge to informed consent, that of domination. Dr Hunter states that &#8216;domination is commonplace in medical practice and that this has profound implications for the justificatory work that informed consent can do&#8217;.
