{"id":779,"date":"2017-02-08T13:34:53","date_gmt":"2017-02-08T04:04:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/southgate-institute-news\/?p=779"},"modified":"2017-02-08T13:34:53","modified_gmt":"2017-02-08T04:04:53","slug":"779","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/southgate-institute-news\/2017\/02\/08\/779\/","title":{"rendered":"Professor Fran Baum and Dr Tamara Mackean attend Prince Mahidol Award Conference in Bangkok"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/southgate-institute-news\/files\/2017\/02\/PMAC-2017-sharp.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-783\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-783\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/southgate-institute-news\/files\/2017\/02\/PMAC-2017-sharp-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"PMAC 2017 sharp\" width=\"174\" height=\"174\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/people\/fran.baum\">Professor Fran Baum <\/a>and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/people\/tamara.mackean\">Dr Tamara Mackean,<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/medicine\/sites\/southgate\/\">Southgate Institute for Health, Society and Equity<\/a>, attended the Prince Mahidol Award Conference in Bangkok\u00a0held between the 29<sup>th<\/sup> January and 3<sup>rd<\/sup> February. \u00a0The theme of the conference was \u201cAddressing the health of vulnerable populations for an inclusive society\u201d. \u00a0PMAC has been described as \u201cDavos of Global Health\u201d and many of the key players in global health from the WHO, World Bank, Rockefeller Foundation and USAID are present at the conference.<\/p>\n<p>Tamara presented a paper on \u2018Social Exclusion and Vulnerability\u2019.
