{"id":900,"date":"2018-03-19T10:48:50","date_gmt":"2018-03-19T01:18:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/southgate-institute-news\/?p=900"},"modified":"2018-03-19T10:48:50","modified_gmt":"2018-03-19T01:18:50","slug":"new-research-funded-help-promote-employment-social-inclusion-health-wellbeing-women-refugee-backgrounds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/southgate-institute-news\/2018\/03\/19\/new-research-funded-help-promote-employment-social-inclusion-health-wellbeing-women-refugee-backgrounds\/","title":{"rendered":"New research funded to help promote employment, social inclusion and health and wellbeing for women from refugee backgrounds"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-902\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/southgate-institute-news\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/52\/2018\/03\/ZierschAnna.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"120\" \/><a href=\"http:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/people\/anna.ziersch\">A\/Prof Anna Ziersch <\/a>along with colleagues from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adelaide.edu.au\/\">University of Adelaide<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/researchers.adelaide.edu.au\/profile\/alexander.reilly\">Prof Alex Reilly<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/researchers.adelaide.edu.au\/profile\/joanna.howe\">Dr Joanna Howe<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/researchers.adelaide.edu.au\/profile\/clemence.due\">Dr Clemence Due<\/a> (also an adjunct with the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/medicine\/sites\/southgate\/\">Southgate Institute<\/a>) were recently successful in winning funding from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.australia.gov.au\/information-and-services\/family-and-community\">Federal Government Department of Families and Communities<\/a> to examine employment pathways for women from refugee backgrounds. The three year study will follow a group of refugee women to examine their experiences in finding work and within workplaces, and links between employment experiences and social inclusion and health and wellbeing. The project will also undertake a review of national employment programmes and initiatives that focus on people from refugee backgrounds, as well as focus groups and interviews with service providers and employers.
