Vanja from Flinders University, reflecting on his exchange at BI Norwegian Business School, Norway during Semester 1 2025.
The highlight of my exchange has been the wonderful people I have met along the way. I have formed friendships with people from Europe, Asia, as well as North and South America.
My experience has far surpassed my expectations, Norway is a beautiful country with scenic landscapes, and I was fortunate enough to see many parts of it such as the Bergen and Tromsø. I have travelled to many places outside of Norway as well such as, the Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, Hungary and the United Kingdom.
During this experience the biggest challenge I had to overcome was adapting to a very different school system at BI, for example all my topics during exchange had no assignments throughout the course but held one exam for each at the end that is worth 100% of the grade. This was particularly challenging for me as it meant I was not receiving feedback on my learning throughout the semester and ensured I was retaining the correct knowledge. I overcame this challenge by regularly reviewing with my peers, this helped me because discussing with people with different backgrounds, provided a variety of perspectives when it came to learning.
