After a little over a month of living and studying in the buzzing Kuala Lumpur, Adelaide truly feels like a country town. Seeing a quite suburb from my bedroom window rather than towering condominiums was quite a strange site upon my return!<\/p>\n

Being a student at The University of Malay<\/a>a, a sprawling tropical campus, was an incredible enriching experience. Under the supervision of Professor Kuru Ratnavelu and Dr. Kwa Kiam Heong, I was able to thoroughly explore Social Network Analysis and its application specifically to my biomedical field. The immense support from everyone at the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences eventually led to me presenting my first seminar at the end of the one month period\u2026a huge personal achievement!<\/p>\n

My time in Malaysia under the New Colombo Plan<\/a> was as much an educational experience as it was cultural. We toured the historical town of Melaka, learnt to enjoy ridiculously spicy food, experienced the Batu Caves during the Hindu festival Thiapusam, spent a lot more money than we should have at humongous megamalls and even went on a three day holiday to Langkawi Island.<\/p>\n

The opportunity that the New Colombo Plan <\/a>provided me with was invaluable and I would encourage anyone with the means to apply.<\/p>\n
