Joe from University College London, <\/strong>undertaking an exchange at Flinders University during Semester 2 2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hi!\u00a0 My name is Joe and I\u2019m an exchange student from University College London. Though I study in England I am originally from Bretagne in France. I will be studying at Flinders for the year to come and this is what some of my days can look like as an exchange student.<\/p>\n

I have classes three days a week, so these are what my days look like when I don\u2019t have to be on campus :<\/p>\n

After a quick stroll outside where I can usually spot what I like to call \u201cfancy birds\u201d I\u2019ll usually continue the day working on various assignments for Uni. I\u2019m currently working on creating a website for one of my lessons ! I\u2019ve been really enjoying how my classes are very project focused with my teachers being super supportive of what I aim to do. Always helping out with skills I haven’t developed yet and sharing resources.<\/p>\n

If it\u2019s a Monday I’ll leave around 5PM to catch the train to lovely Bedford for Frisbee. Flinders very own frisbee club. Keeping up physical activity was super important for me. It\u2019s also a really nice opportunity to meet Australian students ! My friends here are mostly other international students because of all the great activities organised by the Global Student Committee that we got to do during integration week (shout out to Cleland animal park) so meeting people that grew up here is always nice (how one gets to learn about the very enjoyable dish that are ABs).<\/p>\n

On the days I go to Uni I\u2019ll catch the train from the city and get to Bedford Campus in just 20 minutes. \u00a0I like to get there a bit early so I can have my little walk from the station to the campus.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re less keen on walking as I am though (I blame my European blood) there are free flinders buses that take you up there. Though I would recommend the walk at least once because though a bit steep at times (always good for the calves) the bridge is 100% worth it. Also, walking definitely increases your chances of seeing a koala ! (I am particularly bad at spotting them but if I keep with my friend Alex we can sometimes spot one)<\/p>\n

Joe was fortunate to be awarded a Mathew Flinders Statue Scholarship to support the exchange experience.<\/strong><\/p>\n
