Flinders University has zero tolerance for sexual assault or harassment. Information on the steps that the University has taken to prevent sexual assault and harassment, as well as respond more appropriately to incidents can be found on the Safety on Campus page. Please note that all the numbers of who to contact in terms of security, reporting an incident and support can be found towards the bottom of the page. You are not obliged to report incidents to the university, but it is important that you know that supports are available if you do.

People who have been sexually assaulted may experience a range of difficult emotions and feelings: fear, unable to talk, anxiety, depression, guilt or self-blame, low self-esteem, isolation, nightmares and flashbacks, mood swings, loss of confidence and loss of trust. These feelings may discourage some people from speaking up or telling someone.

Sexual assault however is not something that you have to live with on your own. Confidential services and supports are available including Yarrow Place (above) and the 24-hour 1800 RESPECT line/website. Counselling services are also avaiable here at Flinders.
