Evaluating the Flinders Community Market

market evaluation

Every Thursday, during term time, the team at OASIS run the Flinders Community Market.

With the help of Foodbank, the market provides students a place to get incredibly cheap (and often free) food, including fresh bread, fruit and vegetables.

It was set up by students and staff from FUSA and OASIS, in response to identified food insecurity in many students. Food insecurity means not having reliable access to a sufficient quantity of affordable, nutritious food. This is the case for many students who live on very small incomes.

By all basic metrics, the Market has been a great success. It is well attended and the fresh produce is snapped up quickly.

However Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics student Simin would like to get some more detailed feedback from students who have attended the market.

This is the perfect chance to let the team at OASIS know how the market can be expanded and improved. Your feedback will shape how the market is run in the future.

If this is the first you are hearing about the market, then this is a good day for you. Visit the OASIS Centre from 12.00pm to 1.30pm on Thursdays and get your shopping on!!! Be warned, the fresh produce goes quickly, so get in early.
