How to find the right mental health information to suit your needs

educational videos

In addition to providing students a health and mental health service, our role here at Health, Counselling and Disability Services is to direct you to useful resources, so you have some choice and variation in the types and kinds of services you use for you wellbeing.

One way we do that is via our handouts, available at the service (e.g. this one on helpful services in the community).

Another is via this blog and the associated fortnightly newsletter you can subscribe to.

We aren’t the only people doing this though, and the Australian Government plays a significant role in helping people access the right health information and services through sites like HealthDirect.

One of the better sites the government has released in recent times is the Head to Health website. “If you’re trying to improve your own mental health, or support somebody else with mental health issues, Head to Health provides links to trusted Australian online and phone supports, resources and treatment options.”

The video below explains it better than me 🙂
