Building and road works around the Union Building and Student Hub

Some notices about some building works happening around the Union Building and Student Hub.

Update: On Saturday 17 July and Sunday 18 July there will be some building works around the staircases in the Union Building basement and the Student Hub west-facing external stairs. This is to improve accessibility and wayfinding for people with disabilities.

There will be access restrictions between 7am – 2pm through the basement of the Union Building.  During this time the staircase will not be accessible and users will be required to enter or exit Finance and the Student Hub via the external staircase south of this location near the top of the ramp that comes up from Car Park 1.  This closure will also affect staff and students moving through the Student Hub to access Yunggorrendi, Student Centre, Health and Counselling, Sports Centre or Car Park 1.

Due to forecast wet weather this weekend, these works and temporary bus stop changes have been deferred to Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 July

Update: On Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th July, road resurfacing works will be undertaken near Bus Stop A on Registry Road.

All bus services for Bus Stop A will be redirected to Bus Stop B during this time. Pedestrians will also be redirected via alternate paths to avoid the works area. Signage will be in place to inform bus users and pedestrians of the temporary changes. Please take additional care in the area and obey all directional signage and traffic management instructions.

On Sunday 18 July, weather permitting, Access to and around the following areas will be restricted from 4am to approximately 6pm, for safety reasons.

  • The Laneway
  • Humanities Road
  • Car park 5
