The Good Vibes Experiment (GVE) is a student co-designed campaign that promotes positive mental health. We have the opportunity to expand the GVE universe and we’d like you (yes you!) to be involved. Details in post.
The Good Vibes Experiment is growing, and we’d love students to help us decide what comes next.
If you haven’t come across it before, the Good Vibes Experiment is a Flinders mental health and wellbeing campaign built around a simple idea: there are lots of small, practical, creative ways to invest in your mental health, and it can be more powerful when we do that together as a community.
The original Good Vibes Experiment Activity Book invited students to experiment with wellbeing tactics like gratitude, mindfulness, kindness, connection, self-understanding, time in nature, fun, compassion, help-seeking and more. It was designed to be playful, reflective and practical rather than preachy or clinical.
Now, thanks to support from Medibank, we have an opportunity to expand the Good Vibes universe and celebrate the multi-cultural diversity of our Flinders student community.
That might mean new videos 📺
It might mean new merch 👕
It might mean new activities, installations, digital resources, events or something we haven’t thought of yet 👩🏼🎨
That’s where you come in.
We’re putting together a group of students and staff to brainstorm, design and shape the next phase of GVE. The current group includes people from BetterU, the Good Vibes Experiment, Oasis, and our student wellbeing ambassadors and we’d like to invite more students to be part of the process.
Mental health and wellbeing can mean different things across different cultures, families, communities and life experiences. We want the next phase of GVE to have a strong multicultural flavour and to feel relevant to students from many different backgrounds.
You don’t need to be a designer.
You don’t need to be a mental health expert.
You don’t need to have all the answers.
You might be a good fit if you are interested in:
- mental health and wellbeing
- student-led campaigns
- creativity, media, design, writing, video, events or storytelling
- helping other students feel supported and connected
- exploring what wellbeing means across different cultures
- contributing ideas that could become real things on campus and online
The main thing we ask is that you spend a bit of time with the existing Good Vibes Experiment Activity Book (we can supply a physical copy if you can’t find one on campus) before getting involved, so you have a feel for the campaign’s style, tone and wellbeing tactics.
We’ll be running design workshops and other feedback channels where students can share ideas, respond to concepts, help shape priorities and contribute to whatever we decide to build next.
If this brings you good vibes, we’d love to hear from you.
Express your interest by emailing us at goodvibes@flinders.edu.au
You can tell us a little about yourself, why you’re interested, and any skills, perspectives or ideas you might like to bring. We’re not looking for a polished application. We’re looking for students who are curious, thoughtful and keen to help shape something positive for the Flinders community.
Students who are selected and participate in one of our design workshops will receive a $50 gift voucher for their contribution.
Come help us build the next chapter of Good Vibes.
