Interested in a career in education? The Hub at Bedford Park will be the place to be on Tuesday 15th September. I’ll be there co-running a workshop with Annie Harvey on how to turn wellbeing science into classroom experiences. But there is a lot more happening there than just that.
Education students (or any students interested in a career in education) can connect with employers, explore career pathways and prepare for life beyond university at the Education Careers Expo 2026.
The Expo will bring schools, early childhood and community organisations, professional associations, education providers and career services into the Student Hub. Across the three-hour event, students can:
- Meet potential employers and make professional connections
- Practise their interview skills through Interview Express
- Get a free professional headshot
- Hear practical advice from educators and early-career teachers
- Enjoy a free lunch while serves last
Three 45-minute Career Sessions will also run during the Expo:
- 10.15am: Breaking into the Profession
- 11.15am: Navigating Your First Year in the Classroom
- 12.15pm: Wellbeing Science in Practice: Supporting Yourself and Your Future Students (this one involves me!)
Bringing wellbeing science into the classroom
In the final session, Annie Harvey and I will explore how future educators can turn wellbeing science into experiences that students can genuinely use.
We’ll share how student ideas, wellbeing research and creative design came together in the Good Vibes Experiment. Annie will demonstrate how she brings wellbeing ideas to life in educational settings, before participants work in small groups to transform a Good Vibes wellbeing tactic into a learning experience of their own.
Expect something hands-on, playful and practical, with ideas that may help you support both your own wellbeing and that of your future students.
