That seems like a terrible name, but the service itself sounds pretty good.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve reproduced some of the information from their website below for your convenience.<\/p>\n<p>To get in contact with them to determine if they might be helpful to you, there are the following options:<\/p>\n<p>Call 1300 358 220<\/p>\n<p>OR<\/p>\n<p>Email: npsm@neaminational.org.au<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>Get support, get connect<\/h3>\n<p>National Psychosocial Support Measure is community-based mental health support for Central, West and Northern Adelaide.<\/p>\n<p>Psychosocial support offers one-to-one coaching and group activities that support recovery for people with enduring mental illness.<\/p>\n<p>You learn strategies and develop skills that help you:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify your strengths<\/li>\n<li>Find people around you to help improve your wellbeing<\/li>\n<li>Build resilience to achieve your goals<\/li>\n<li>Connect with family or with your community<\/li>\n<li>Enjoy a full and vibrant quality of life<\/li>\n<li>Explore accessing the NDIS<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a title=\"Jump to the eligibility and referral information\" href=\"https:\/\/www.neaminational.org.au\/find-services\/national-psychosocial-support-measure\/#eligibility\">Eligibility and referral information<\/a><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>Improve your health and wellbeing<\/h3>\n<p>Using a recovery focus, we support you at the times when you most need it. The length of support can range from three to six months.<\/p>\n<p>An experienced mental health support worker will spend time with you to help you:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Look after your mental and physical health<\/li>\n<li>Develop a recovery plan<\/li>\n<li>Achieve your goals through face-to-face and phone coaching<\/li>\n<li>Reduce your need for hospital services<\/li>\n<li>Reach out to the people in your life who can support your recovery, such as:\n<ul>\n<li>Carers or family members<\/li>\n<li>Your GP<\/li>\n<li>Services in the community<\/li>\n<li>Health professionals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>Support to suit your needs<\/h3>\n<p>We help you to build the confidence and skills to achieve your goals and the life you want. Based on your needs and preferences the areas of support can include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Daily living support<\/li>\n<li>Housing<\/li>\n<li>Employment<\/li>\n<li>Education<\/li>\n<li>Managing money<\/li>\n<li>Connecting with your community<\/li>\n<li>Emotional Support<\/li>\n<li>Improving physical health<\/li>\n<li>Family relationships<\/li>\n<li>Coordinating service<\/li>\n<li>Justice<\/li>\n<li>Alcohol and other drugs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>Mental health recovery<\/h3>\n<p>We offer a<a title=\"Go to the Our approach section\" href=\"https:\/\/www.neaminational.org.au\/about-us\/our-approach\/\">\u00a0coordinated, planned, inclusive and reliable service<\/a>\u00a0that is sensitive to each person\u2019s needs.<\/p>\n<p>We believe that recovery is an individual process and that with the right kind of support each person can move towards a life that matches their values and goals for the future.<\/p>\n<p>Recovery goals often include physical and mental health, self-confidence, social and community connection, education and skills development, and employment.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3 id=\"eligibility\">Eligibility<\/h3>\n<p>National Psychosocial Support Measure is available to people who:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Live or are connected to Adelaide<\/li>\n<li>Experience severe mental health issues<\/li>\n<li>Are not supported by the NDIS.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>Referral<\/h3>\n<p>Anyone can make a referral to the National Psychosocial Support Measure including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>People requiring support<\/li>\n<li>Doctors and GPs<\/li>\n<li>Family members or friends<\/li>\n<li>Other mental health or health services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To discuss eligibility or make a referral call Neami on 1300 358 220.<\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>Working together<\/h3>\n<p>The National Psychosocial Support Measure is delivered across Metropolitan Adelaide by the Central Adelaide Hills Partners in Recovery consortium.<\/p>\n<p>Neami National is the lead agency, working with Life Without Barriers, Mind Australia, Mission Australia, Skylight Mental Health, Uniting Care Wesley Bowden and UnitingSA to deliver this service.<\/p>\n<p>This service is supported by\u00a0<a title=\"Go to the Adelaide PHN website\" href=\"https:\/\/adelaidephn.com.au\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Adelaide PHN<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; A pamphlet just came by my desk for a support service for those with severe mental health issues.
