{"id":3635,"date":"2021-08-10T08:46:09","date_gmt":"2021-08-09T23:16:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/student-health-and-well-being\/?p=3635"},"modified":"2021-08-10T08:46:09","modified_gmt":"2021-08-09T23:16:09","slug":"shut-up-and-study-inaugural-session-went-well-join-us-on-thursday-for-second","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/student-health-and-well-being\/2021\/08\/10\/shut-up-and-study-inaugural-session-went-well-join-us-on-thursday-for-second\/","title":{"rendered":"Shut Up and Study Inaugural Session went well, join us on Thursday for second!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Why study alone when you can join a virtual community of Flinders peeps getting work done?<\/p>\n<p>This week I launched something I had been thinking of launching for a while.<\/p>\n<p>Shut Up and Study Sessions!<\/p>\n<p>Built on the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/shutupwrite.com\/\">Shut Up and Write<\/a>\u00a0philosophy, these sessions are online meetups where we get our work done.<\/p>\n<p>The format is simple<\/p>\n<p><em>Sessions run for 90 minutes\u00a0<\/em>\u23f2<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>\u00a010 minutes intro and quick guided meditation (to get us all in the working mindset)<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>70 minutes of quiet work (no interaction, but knowing we\u2019re all there)<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>10 minutes closing statements and chance to share via text chat your achievements, learnings, tasks completed etc<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Undergraduate, post-graduate and staff all welcome. What connects us is a desire to get our work done.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday (9th August) we did our<strong> first ever session.<\/strong> Got 6 people. 6 people got their work done. Bam!!<\/p>\n<p>The second is coming up this Thursday at 2.00pm<\/p>\n<p><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">Thursday 12th August, 2pm to 3.30pm -\u202f\u00a0<\/span><\/i><a href=\"https:\/\/au.bbcollab.com\/guest\/fc115bd585a34f5b9f658ae0a04e7e1e\"><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">https:\/\/au.bbcollab.com\/guest\/fc115bd585a34f5b9f658ae0a04e7e1e<\/span><\/i><\/a><i><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u202f<\/span><\/i><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:240}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Pop it in your diary and join us. Given it is virtual, there is no real limit to how many people can show up.<\/p>\n<p>These sessions will be run weekly (except holidays) for the remainder of the year.
