Black Dog Institute are testing a new app called Vibe Up. In this post, learn a bit about the trial and how you can get involved. <em>Reading time ~ 1.5 minutes.<\/em><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>I found this opportunity for university students on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/blackdoginst\">Black Dog Institute Facebook page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>They are testing a mobile phone app called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blackdoginstitute.org.au\/research-studies\/vibe-up\/\">Vibe Up<\/a> that utilises AI technology to guide users through the use of techniques taught by doctors and psychologists to help build better mental health.<\/p>\n<p>Participation in the trial involves downloading and utilising the app for 30 days (no more than 30 minutes per day), some pre- and post-questionnaires, and engaging in some mental health promoting activities such as physical activity, mindfulness and sleep hygiene.<\/p>\n<p>At the end of the trial you&#8217;ll get a confidential personalised report with tips to help you stay well.<\/p>\n<p>You can learn more about (and register to participate) in the study at the following address: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blackdoginstitute.org.au\/research-studies\/vibe-up\/\">https:\/\/www.blackdoginstitute.org.au\/research-studies\/vibe-up\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>If any of you take part, I&#8217;d love to hear your thoughts and experiences on the app itself.<\/p>\n<p>If learning psychological tools for improving mental health are of interest to you, might I also recommend the <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/student-health-and-well-being\/2021\/09\/17\/opportunity-to-do-the-be-well-program\/\">Be Well Plan<\/a>, that is offered free to Flinders students.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Overview: Mobile phone apps can be a great vehicle through which to deliver health and mental health advice.
