The Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) conference program at Flinders University in 2025 includes a three-day mix of in-person and online activities, featuring Welcome to Country, RAP updates and achievements, language workshops, cultural tours, student activities, presentations on various RAP initiatives, an anti-racism workshop, a keynote speech, Aboriginal art introduction, and a community BBQ with performances.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Flinders University\u2019s RAP Conference is back, and you won\u2019t want to miss this enriching three-day event.<\/p>\n<p>Held from Wednesday 21 May to Friday 23 May, the RAP Conference provides a\u00a0platform for staff and students to engage in a variety of cultural activities and discussions centred around the University\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flinders.edu.au\/reconciliation-action-plan\">Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The conference commences with an official opening including a Welcome to Country by Jack Buckskin and an introduction to the RAP Conference program from Co-Chairs of the University\u2019s RAP Oversight Committee, Professor Simone Ulalka Tur (Pro Vice Chancellor Indigenous) and Professor Jonathan Craig (Vice President and Executive Dean, College of Medicine and Public Health).<\/p>\n<p>The first day of the conference is packed with events and activities including a campus tour, Kaurna language workshop by Kuma Kaaru as well as a presentation by Kirstie Parker; a Yuwaalaraay woman from north-west New South Wales with more than 25 years experience in Indigenous advocacy, journalism and government.<\/p>\n<p>The subsequent days continue to offer a blend of educational and cultural experiences. Highlights include a tour of FUMA\u2019s collection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art, Anti-Racism Workshop by Reconciliation SA and keynote presented by Reconciliation SA CEO, Jason Downs.<\/p>\n<p>The Student Hub will come to life with live entertainment and a weaving station offered throughout the conference schedule, ensuring a vibrant and engaging atmosphere.<\/p>\n<p>Our team at Yungkurrinthi will close the formalities of the conference with a Community BBQ from 3pm on Friday 23 May in Inparrila, where we invite you to bring your colleagues along to join us for a Smoking Ceremony and enjoy the angelic voices of the award winning and highly regarded, Iwiri Choir.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that the conference schedule is subject to change, and participants are encouraged to check for updates regularly.
