{"id":672,"date":"2018-04-10T12:33:26","date_gmt":"2018-04-10T03:03:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/student-health-and-well-being\/?p=672"},"modified":"2018-07-18T13:14:31","modified_gmt":"2018-07-18T03:44:31","slug":"port-adelaide-football-club-wellbeing-resilience-program-rsvp-now","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/student-health-and-well-being\/2018\/04\/10\/port-adelaide-football-club-wellbeing-resilience-program-rsvp-now\/","title":{"rendered":"Port Adelaide Football Club &#8211; Wellbeing and Resilience Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you thought that football teams simply entertained you, and made you feel bad about your own fitness and how you look in shorts, you&#8217;d be very wrong.<\/p>\n<p>Power Community Ltd, the community engagement arm of the Port Adelaide Football Club, are incredibly active in the community, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.portadelaidefc.com.au\/community\/programs\">running development programs<\/a> designed to empower and skill up young people with the skills they need for life.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;ve <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.flinders.edu.au\/student-health-and-well-being\/2017\/08\/04\/power-to-be-positive-program-skills-and-tools-for-resilience-and-well-being\/\">spoken previously<\/a> about the The Port Adelaide Football Club&#8217;s Wellbeing and Resilience Program. They came to Flinders University last year and earlier this year and spoke to 40+ students on skills\/tools they can use to perform in high pressure environments &#8211; drawing on the experience of players playing in the AFL.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">The program is being run again this semester on the 17th August (with a follow-up session on the 5th September).<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>If you think you could enhance your study capacity through learning about mindsets, resilience, mindfulness, cognitive restructuring, gratitude and finding meaning &#8211; then this is the program for you.
