Works on Campus – 27 October update

Improvements to central library tearoom

You may have noticed the tearoom on level 1 of the Central Library has had a facelift. The new space will benefit all students, with a focus on providing a more-inclusive tearoom for people with disabilities. New joinery has been installed and includes a wheelchair-accessible sink and benchtop which complies with Australian accessibility standards. Have a look next time you’re in the library!

Oval irrigation works

After a delayed start due to unforeseen circumstances, oval irrigation works are well underway.

The new irrigation system is being installed on the upper and lower ovals at the Bedford Park campus. This involves trenching across the ovals to install the irrigation piping. These trenches are being dug and refilled each day, so there will be regular disturbance to the surfaces of the ovals and undulation as it resettles. Please note, the Pavillion between the ovals can not be used at this time.

Please follow any directional signage placed at the sites, watch for any bunting in place around hazards, and take an alternative route around the ovals during. At this stage, we expect that works will be completed by late October 2021 for the upper oval, and mid-late November 2021 for the lower oval.
