Works around campus – 6 April 2022

Concrete works in Anchor Court

There will be concrete works in Anchor Court from Monday 11 April to Thursday 14 April.

This is likely to create some noise, dust and debris as the contractors need to cut a box drain into the concrete behind the coffee caravan. However, this has been scheduled during the mid-semester break to minimise the impact on students as much as possible.

Second HMRB crane arriving this weekend

A reminder that the second crane on the eastern side of the Health and Medical Research Building construction site will arrive on site on 8 April 2022 and be installed the following weekend.

The two cranes will be on site for the next 12+ months as the project progresses. The exclusion zones for activity undertaken by these cranes are restricted to within the boundary of the work site, but where necessary, traffic and pedestrian management will be in place to ensure the safety of those passing by the boundary.

Traffic management will also be in place as the second crane is brought on campus. All possible efforts will be made to restrict the impact to campus traffic flow, but as always, we ask you please to slow down and take additional care at this time.

Closed construction sites at College of Science and Engineering

If you’ve visited South Ridge recently, you would’ve noticed the works happening in and around the College of Science and Engineering – especially in Anchor Court, where we’re doing a major development of the College front.

Please remember that these are closed construction sites. For everyone’s safety, there’s no access at any time between Anchor Court and the Biodiscovery Centre or Biodiversity building.

Please be sure to follow all signage in place – and if you’re not sure, please ask someone!
