Works around campus – 27 July 2022

Campus updates

Crane lift in Anchor Court

Please be aware that a crane lift is expected to take place in Anchor Court this Saturday 30 July, weather permitting. This is to place a new retail container in the space and is likely to occur between 7am and 11am. Due to the location and access restrictions, the crane base will be located in a nearby car park.

Please avoid moving through these areas at this time and follow any directions and signage in place.

Flinders loop walking and running track

Starting in August, a new all-weather Flinders loop walking and running track will be installed on the upper and lower sporting ovals on the corner of Sturt and Main South Roads. This will commence on the upper level and is expected to be completed in October 2022.

This work will involve installing a 900m x 2.0m wide loop walking and running track  made up of cement treated quarry rubble. There will be track signage, with distance markers at 100m intervals, and a drinking fountain installed close to the track.

The project will provide an improved exercise space for our Flinders Uni community and others in the local area. We will provide an update when the project commences.

Gas service audits

Please be aware there will be gas service audits and brief outages in the Biological Sciences Building from this week until Friday 5 August. This will affect all levels of the building, including the basement. Affected rooms won’t be available for up to an hour during the audit.
