Donate your old device and help save Chimpanzees in the wild, while supporting delivery of objective 3.2 of the Flinders 2030 Sustainability Strategy!
Recycle your device to help!
Brighton Primary School and Centre of Deaf Education are calling for donations of unused, old or broken mobile phones, iPads/tablets and associated accessories for Zoos SA.
Zoos SA’s device recycling program helps divert mobile phones and associated tech from landfill and conserves natural resources, by reducing the need to mine. Some donated devices can be refurbished and reused, providing communication to people who cannot afford phones/devices and raising funds for Zoos SA. Others will be dismantled and their compartments reused in other technology, ensuring minimal waste.
The funds generated through recycling directly supports on ground work with Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary and the Jane Goodall Institute Australia.
Supporting this work contributes to objective 3.2 of Flinders’ 2025 Sustainability Strategy to ‘grow community engagement for sustainable impact and ‘actively engage with local communities to contribute to sustainability more broadly’.
Donated items can be placed in boxes in the Central Library (information desk) and Oasis, for collection on 19 September.
