Celebrating Kindness: Lalvith Lal Receives CSE-Fearless Award
In a heartwarming moment that highlights the power of compassion and community, Associate Dean (Learning and Teaching) Prof Ingo Koeper has awarded the CSE-Fearless Award to Lalvith Lal, a Bachelor of Information Technology (Network and Cybersecurity Systems) student, for his exemplary behaviour in helping a fellow student in need.
The award recognises Lalvith’s selfless and courageous actions, which embody the spirit of leadership and empathy that the university and the College of Science and Engineering strive to foster. In a situation where quick thinking and genuine care made a real difference, Lalvith stepped up without hesitation—demonstrating that doing the right thing is not only brave, but deeply impactful.
“It’s important to take the time to recognise when someone chooses to help others simply because it’s the right thing to do,” said Dr. Koeper. “Lalvith’s actions remind us that kindness and integrity are just as vital in our academic community as knowledge and skill.”
The CSE-Fearless Award is a symbol of appreciation for students who go above and beyond, not just in their studies, but in their humanity. Lalvith’s example serves as an inspiration to all, showing that courage often comes in the form of quiet, thoughtful acts of support.
