FHBHRU Bulletin Spring 2018

Message from the Director

With many months of significant change across Flinders University, we have experienced one of our busiest years so far.

Our postgraduate Chronic Condition Management and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy programs have continued to grow and diversify. In particular, Low Intensity CBT appears to have made its way into mainstream health service language and our CBT team have been particularly busy supporting a number of new services to develop this approach. We’ve also had an exciting time working with Western Australia Country Health Service (WACHS) as it continues its strategic rollout of Chronic Condition Self-Management support across its services. We have undertaken some great projects this year, including a very successful one for the Road Home exploring the experiences of partners of contemporary veterans and emergency services first responders.

In this issue, you’ll be able to read about some of these activities and more also on the progress of our existing programs along with some new research too. I hope you enjoy reading these and find them of use to your own work. Wishing you all a great end to the year and thanks for your ongoing support and collaboration.
