The Education and Training team have been busy in the Motivational Interviewing space once again, providing one-day workshops for SA Health and also for Pt Lincoln Aboriginal Health Service. The workshops included a mix of theory and practice to support a range of learning styles, with the overall aim of improving the clinician’s knowledge and confidence in supporting client’s behaviour change. All workshops were very well received (often oversubscribed!) with attendees including a range of allied health professionals, Aboriginal health workers, nurses and GPs from a variety of clinical backgrounds and experience of Motivational Interviewing.

Given the ongoing demand for Motivational Interviewing content, we are now developing an ‘Advanced MI Skills’ workshop to provide a face to face opportunity for clinicians, to undertake supported practice using advanced MI strategies and to consider ongoing implementation into practice.
